YOU’RE INVITED: Sunday, August 31 at 1:30 pm, the members of Peace Lutheran Church in Des Moines invite your congregation to attend the retirement service of Rev. Michael Barnes. Pastor Barnes has suggested a special offering to be collected for the Lutheran Center of Theological Studies in Togo, West Africa.

LADIES’ GUILD: All ladies and girls of the church are invited to participate in the Ladies’ Guild. Our next gathering is September 6th at 9:30 am. We have a fun activity planned that all ages will enjoy. To help us plan future events, please complete this short survey.

SEMINARY STUDENT JOINS US: Jack, who is a seminary student attending Ft. Wayne, will join us this week starting on August 26th. Here is a little about him: “My name is Jack. I am currently a seminarian studying at Concordia Theological Seminary at Fort Wayne in the process of preparing myself for the office of holy ministry. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to be able to be a summer vicar at Holy Cross, regardless of how brief my stay may be. Having been here many times before and having been warmly welcomed by the great community here, it is really such an honor to be able to intern at this amazing parish where God’s holy word and right biblical practices are held in such high regard. I am sure that I will gain valuable experiences for my two weeks here and I look forward to meeting all of you.”
