A Note From Pastor (November 2024)

At the end of this month we will celebrate the Last Sunday of the church year and acknowledge the quickly approaching return of Christ, when we sing, “The day is surely drawing near, when Jesus, God’s anointed, in all His power shall appear as judge whom God appointed. Then fright shall banish idle mirth, and flames on flames shall ravage earth as Scripture long has warned us.” These are sobering words in a world where fewer and fewer people believe the Bible or find comfort in the truth that Jesus is the world’s Redeemer.
This is very serious, because Jesus warned that, “For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matt. 24:37-39)  St. Peter, also wrote, “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved.” (2 Peter 3:10)
Therefore give thanks to God as we wait His return, we need not fear “The Day that is surely drawing near,” because, “My Savior paid the debt I owe and for my sin was smitten; within the Book of Life I know my name has now been written. I will not doubt, for I am free, and Satan cannot threaten me; there is no condemnation!”
