PRE-LENT SEASON: refers to the three weeks immediately before the start of Lent, a period of preparation for the penitential season of Lent where Christians engage in self-reflection and repentance. The paraments are green during the Pre-Lent Season. The Alleluias before the Gospel are omitted. The third Sunday is known as Quinquagesima. That is a Latin term that means 50 days before Easter. The focus is on faith. It is the Sunday before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent.

REMINDER: If you are the last one out of the church building, please turn out the lights and make sure the doors are locked. Thanks!

NEW DIRECTORY: Please check your mailbox! The 2026 Member directory and updates for the photo directory are in your mailbox, as well as the Volunteer Handbook & Schedule for 2026. If you need additional copies, you can find them on top of the filing cabinet in the office. Please let Allison know of any mistakes so she can correct them in future copies.

CONTRACT RUMMY ANYONE?  We have Fellowship this coming Friday beginning at 6 p.m.  Enjoy an exciting game of Contract Rummy.  Bring a snack or two to share with the group.

CHINA HUTCH: The Caros will be moving soon. They have a beautiful China hutch that they don’t want to bring to the new place. If you are interested, please let Lori know as soon as possible.

LUTHERAN WITNESS: It is time to renew your annual Lutheran Witness magazine subscription! The cost is $32 for the year. You may make a check out to Holy Cross Lutheran Church with “Lutheran Witness” in the memo line and place it in the treasurer’s box. If you would like to stop or start a subscription, please talk to Allison.

CALL FOR RELIGIOUS BULLETIN ART: The Good Shepherd Institute of CTSFW invites artists to submit new artwork for use in service bulletins. This artwork will be used in open spaces in bulletins, calling attention not to itself but to the service and the Word of God. All designs should be black and white, along with the full spectrum of gray. There is no particular submission deadline. For more information and to submit artwork, visit ctsfw.edu/bulletin-art.
