A Note from Pastor (May 2025)
He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! For forty days after the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, we continue to rejoice in the “Season of Easter.” In fact, from our Lord’s ascension into heaven until the moment of His return in glory, this is the message that sustains the church, “That Christ has risen.” This message is so important, that without it, St. Paul would write, “Our faith is in vain.”
This is why Paul would encourage the Christians in Corinth saying, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain.”
Because the Word of the Lord endures forever, we are blessed to remember and rejoice in this essential truth for more than just forty days, but everyday, “That Christ has risen! He has risen indeed! Alleluia!”
