FREE ORGANIST WORKSHOP: Saturday, May 3rd St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, MN is hosting a free organist workshop on accompanying congregational singing. Please register by April 30th by calling 507-835-2647. See the flyer on the bulletin board for more information – like what to bring.
ORGANIST SEARCH: Messiah Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Johnston, IA is looking for a new organist. The position would begin late May/early June and can be part or full time. Main duty would be to play for the Sunday 9:30am worship services, using liturgy and hymns from the LSB. See the flyer on the bulletin board for more information.
THANK YOU: Thank you for the generous gifts to the Organ maintenance and repair fund. The Organ committee elected to use a portion of those funds to purchase a new lamp for the organ that was recently put to use. The new music lamp is AWESOME and will serve the organists well for many years. Feel free to take a look.
FREE TO TAKE HOME:
- 1x Music lamp. Appropriate for spinet pianos or taller. This is the old lamp from the organ.
- 1x DOCIS 3.1 Modem. Old combination modem+ WiFi router from the church's internet that is no longer compatible with Metronet. Compatible with Mediacom Xfinity and other DOCIS 3.0/3.1 internet services.
Those items can be found on the basement landing by the Sunday school hallway
FOOD ALLERGIES: If you have food allergies, an intolerance, or a restriction/ sensitivity, please stop in the office and mark it on the Food Allergen chart. You will not be asked to provide your name. This is to help us label foods during congregational meals and events. Thank you.
EQUIPPING THE PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS: Issues, Etc. is a radio talk show and podcast produced by Lutheran Public Radio in Collinsville, IL and hosted by LCMS Pastor Todd Wilken. Recent topics include: Did Jesus Commune Judas? Secular Violence in Modern History, The Importance of Church Architecture, Anti-Semitism, The Hymn “Sing, My Tongue, the Glorious Battle,” and more. You can listen at your convenience at issuesetc.org.
SAVE THE DATE! The fourth annual homeschool conference sponsored by the Lutheran Homeschool League is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025. The conference will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Carlisle, Iowa. This year's theme is Open Now Thy Gates of Beauty: Bringing Beauty into Your Home and Homeschool. Rev. Kyle Verage from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, is our keynote speaker. Visit the event page on our website to learn more or register.
