July 14th Announcements

LAST DAY: Today is your last day to claim any items from the lost and found table in the narthex. After church today, remaining items will be donated or disposed of.

COOKOUT RESCHEDULED: The church cookout for today has been rescheduled because of the high heat index. See you next Sunday evening, July 21st at 5:30pm at the shelter for a cookout!

WEDNESDAY: Pastor WILL be available for Ladies’ Bible Study this Wednesday morning. Still NO Vespers and NO Table Talk.

MAILBOXES: We have added some new members! In order to maintain alphabetical order some mail slots have been shifted. Please be aware that your mail slot may have slightly moved from where you are used to.

ROAD CONSTUCTION: Starting Monday July 15th, the frontage road and Market street will be closed to work on the turn lane at the stoplight. When you turn onto the frontage road, you will be forced to turn right toward Casey’s. Take a left onto Lindhard Road, then another left onto Market street. See the photo to the right or the photo on the bulletin board for more details. Construction could last until August 23rd.

DIRECTORY UPDATES: Grab an updated half-sheet to insert into your church directory! We have many new additions (Welcome!) and a couple updates to directory information.

CONTRACT RUMMY ANYONE?  We have Fellowship this coming Friday beginning at 6 p.m.  Enjoy an exciting game of Contract Rummy.  Bring a snack or two to share with the group.

THANK YOU: Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the Funnel Cake Stand! It was a huge success with a record high income of over $3000.  We had over 2 dozen volunteers who helped prepare food, set up the tent, haul the trailer, stock supplies, cook food, prepare batter, serve food and beverages, take orders, clean up and more! What a blessing to have so many volunteers. Thank you for sharing your time and talents. -Funnel Cake Team

CAMP OKOBOJI FLOOD RECOVERY: Camp Okoboji was also subject to flooding. Some buildings on camp were affected, particularly the newest cabin, Ezra, as well as Solomon and Genesis where some of the staff live, and most significantly Joppa Hall. Additionally, the docks received major damage. Unfortunately, it’s not prudent for Camp Okoboji to use our insurance to make repairs because of a large deductible and limited coverage. We’ve decided on repairing without, but we can only do so with your help. Donate at CampOkoboji.org under “Give to Camp.”

WEEDING: Our church property could always use some help with weeding. We are specifically looking to take care of areas like the garden, around trees, and around shrubbery. See the sign-up sheet in the narthex or speak with Christina Williamson.

DONATIONS NEEDED: The Lutheran Institute for Regenerative Agriculture is looking for gently used items for the girls’ housing/dorm. There is a list in the Narthex. If you have any of the items and would like to donate them, please initial the box next to the item. We will be collecting them and delivering donations this fall. We are also organizing a service project for this fall. Watch for more details. See Kathryn Feldt for details or questions.
