April 5th Announcements

SPECIAL VOTERS’ MEETING: We will have a special voters' meeting today for member transfers, as well as voting on new council board members.

GAME DAY: On Sunday, April 21st there will be a family game day following Bible study, at noon.

EASTER FLOWERS: Members of Holy Cross provided Easter flowers for the sanctuary. Some flowers were given in honor of something, or in memory of someone.
Dave Selby. . . . . In Memory of Kay Selby
Jeff and Gayle Siegel. . . . . In Memory of Carol Rumerfield
Friedrichs Family. . . . . In Thankfulness for God's good gifts for all His children

WHITE PARAMENTS: White is the color of purity and completeness. The theme for the “great fifty days” of Easter is supported by the use of white. This color assists in bearing the message that “though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow.” Christ's triumph from the grave on Resurrection day is the cause for our rejoicing. His purity before his Father becomes our purity. White reinforces that message of joy. (lcms.org)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Holy Cross is hosting a Home School Conference on Saturday, May 11th from 8:30 – 3:30. Help us bless the parents attending the conference by caring for their children. Come join the fun and be a blessing to parents and children! Please contact Rita Stofer for details.

USHERS NEEDED: There is an usher sign-up sheet on a table in the narthex.  Confirmed men of the congregation are encouraged to serve as ushers for one or more months. There is a list of duties beside the sign-up sheet.  Feel free to take one for reference. --Board of Elders

BOARD OPENINGS: The Board of Properties has an opening. If you are interested in joining, please contact Mark Selby.

PASTOR ON VACATION: Pastor will be taking vacation Sunday afternoon, April 7th, until mid-day Wednesday, April 10th. No morning Bible studies on April 10th, but Vespers and Confirmation classes will take place.

CALENDAR FORMAT: We have updated the website to contain an online calendar that is easier to edit in real time. We are trying printing settings for it. This month there are two printed calendars: one printed from the website, and the other created on a document as normal. Both calendars contain the same events and information. Please feel free to share your opinions on which format is your favorite. You may direct comments to secretary, Allison Doying, or to tech team member, Jeremiah Bolin.
