A Note from Pastor - "Winter" Retreat Invite

According to the apostle, St. Peter, from his First Epistle, chapter 3,“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.”
On Friday and Saturday, June 14-15, Rev. Eamonn Ferguson will be here to present at our annual “Winter” Youth Retreat.  The title and subject for our retreat will be, “Into Hell His Road Went Down: The Harrowing of Hell and the Great Exodus of Jesus.”
Pastor Ferguson will be teaching our youth and interested adults about why Jesus descended into hell and what He did there.
Join us as we journey through the Old and New Testaments, and the Early Church Fathers to witness God's great victory in Jesus' descent into hell, and what it means for us as Christians.
Confirmation age youth and older are encouraged to attend.  Come early on Friday for an afternoon of board games and getting to know each other!  Any questions, contact Pastor Johnson. 515-721-6675 or pastor.holycross@yahoo.com
